Gregory Scott Stuart to Perform Faculty Artist Series Concert at FSU

Frostburg State University’s Department of Music will present baritone Gregory Scott Stuart in his Faculty Artist Series concert on Sunday, Oct. 31, at 3 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Woodward D. Pealer Performing Arts Center. He will be accompanied by pianist Dr. Joseph Yungen. This event is free and open to the public. If you can't attend the recital, it will also be livestreamed; click the 'Join Stream' button on this page a few minutes before the recital is scheduled to begin, or anytime during the recital, to view the live performance.

The program has a Halloween theme and is peopled with ghosts, witches, vampires and other supernatural beings. It will also feature several comparative settings of poetry, where a single poem will be performed as set by more than one composer. The poetry of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe is prominently featured.

Stuart is a performer and director with broad experience in the arts, encompassing oratorio, concert and recital appearances, roles in opera and musical theatre, non-musical acting engagements and work as a stage director. A member of the music faculty at FSU, he has appeared in concerts with the Orchestra of Northern Virginia, Anne Arundel Community College, Opus Concert Theatre and the Society of the Cincinnati. In oratorio, he has performed the solos in a number of frequently performed works and was a soloist in several world premieres. He has sung numerous leading roles in opera with local and regional companies and has directed operas as well.

The University is following CDC guidance based on current conditions in the area. Currently, FSU expects masks to be worn indoors when in the presence of others, regardless of vaccination status. Visitors to campus must visit www.frostburg.edu/checkin for symptom monitoring.
